When it comes to what a private investigator can legally do in the UK, the law is pretty clear. Here at GPS we pride ourselves in being a very honest and reputable London-based private investigation agency that ensures only legal methods are carried out on every investigation.

Can we tap phones? It is currently illegal to tap or bug phones in the UK. However, if the phone is under your name, phone forensics can be used to recover deleted information, call history and text messages.

Can you hack emails? No reputable private investigator will hack into an email account as this is not a legal method of investigation.

Naturally, clients want to know how much it costs to hire a private investigator before they commit to booking our services. However, the issue with discussing general costs is that there is no “typical” investigation – every investigation is unique and although many of the investigation processes are similar, every case is different.

We will always discuss costs with our clients before starting any work and make sure a set price has been agreed upon.
